Navagraha — the nine planets
Kumbakonam sits at the centre of the Navagraha belt. We run all nine shrines as a single full-day A/C trip, visited in our usual driving order: Moon, Jupiter, Rahu, Sun, Venus, Mars, Mercury, Ketu, Saturn.

The nine planets, in our driving order
Numbered Moon→Jupiter→Rahu→Sun→Venus→Mars→Mercury→Ketu→Saturn — the order we actually run this circuit in, not the traditional ritual sequence.
8 numbered temples are mapped below in this order; Ketu follows Mercury on the drive but isn't pinned yet.
Mapped, in order
Also in this circuit (not yet individually pinned) — visited 8th, between Mercury and Saturn:
Naganathaswamy Temple, Keezhaperumpallam (Ketu · 60 km).
A long day, start to finish — we usually leave town by early morning for this one.
